The Mission of the Church is “to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ” (BCP,855). The term “mission” has often been used to represent the work of Christians beyond the bounds of the church building, such as feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, and taking the Gospel to other countries and cultures. But Mission is broader than direct service to our neighbors and encompasses working for policies at all levels of civil society to ensure that there are no hungry, homeless, or mistreated people, whether they are in our backyards or across oceans.

Among other needs in the population of Oxford, food is primary. The organization called TOPSS distributes food free of charge to individuals and families. Members of Holy Trinity volunteer two days a week to help with the choice and bagging of shelved food.

TOPPS also has a customized van used for distributing food and other items to people in the community who are home-bound or for other reasons have no transportation to the distribution center.
