The Choir

The Choir at Holy Trinity consists of volunteer singers from the parish and four choral scholars. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Choir sang regularly from September through May at all 10:30 AM Sunday services, and for special services such as the traditional Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, Christmas Eve Eucharist, Maundy Thursday, and the Great Vigil of Easter.  We are now using music recorded on video streamed live through the Holy Trinity Group Page on FaceBook and mounted on YouTube. We will also be experimenting with virtual choral music published on Zoom.com.

In addition to music for the liturgies of the church year, the choir has also occasionally sung in concert.  On Good Friday of 2012, the choir performed Gabriel Fauré's Requiem Mass in concert. In March 2019, the choir gave a concert of Latin American Music. In both cases, Miami students and faculty formed the orchestral ensemble and served as soloists.  Several years earlier, the choir sang a Schubert mass with orchestra as the service music for a Sunday morning Eucharist. It is unclear when we will be able to resume this tradition.

Special music by the University Choraliers

Every fall, the Miami University women’s chorus called the Choraliers has sung for a service of Eucharist at Holy Trinity. Led by Bill Bausano, Holy Trinity’s former choir director, the Choraliers have sung in concerts all over the world. They always bring a broad cross-section of musical literature to Holy Trinity and sing with extraordinary expression and musicianship. We hope that we will be able to have the choraliers sing at Holy Trinity again before long.
